Thank you for Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in coaching for Westside Soccer Club. As a volunteer run organization, we rely on volunteers like you coaching our teams.

Below are instructions to complete all steps necessary to coach a WSC team. Please use your full, legal name in all steps as well as the same email address. If you have previously registered as a coach, please use the same email address. If you cannot remember which email address you used, please email the office at westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

First, please make sure your SafeSport training is current. This needs to be completed once every 12 months. Training completed after May 23, 2020 will be valid through the end of spring season.

If you have previously done the NFHS - Protecting Students from Abuse training, you will need to do the full 90 minute official SafeSport training. If you have previously done the full official SafeSport training, you will complete the 20 minute refresher.

Please go to: https://www.safesport.org/authentication/signin

If you have previously registered with SafeSport, you can log in. If you have not previously registered, click "register" to create your account. You will be prompted to "Add Membership". Select U.S. Soccer as the organization. An access code is required. Please email the WSC office at westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com for the access code. If this is your first time, you will be directed to the full 90 minute course. If you have previously completed the 90 minute course, you will be automatically directed to the 20 minute refresher. Please note, once you complete a refresher, the next refresher will be automatically available. For the first year, you ONLY need to complete the full course. Each additional year, you ONLY need to complete ONE refresher.

Once you have completed the course (or the refresher), please download your certificate and email it to westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

Second, please make sure your concussion training is current. This is still done through NFHS. Concussion training is valid for 12 months. Training completed after May 23, 2020 will be valid through the end of the spring season.

Please go to: https://nfhslearn.com/

If you have previously completed concussion training, you can simply "Order" the "Concussion in Sports" course you did last time. If this is your first time, please search for "Concussion in Sports - Oregon" under courses. Once you have completed the entire training (including the course survey), your certificate will be available for download.

Please download and email the certificate to westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

Third, please register for the season. If you are coaching your child, it is recommended to register the child first, then yourself as coach during the same transaction. If you register separately, you may be prompted to link to your child’s registration.

Please go to: Registration Information

Fourth, at a future date you will be required to register through OYSA and submit a background check. We are not processing OYSA registrations/background checks at this time. You will receive an email from WSC when it is time to register through OYSA.

If you have any questions during the registration process, please contact westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.
